The Black Room Sessions

The Black Room Sessions is an intimate live music series produced by Light F/X Studios in Miami, where each installment welcomes only around eighty guests into a darkened room with the band. The whole audience listens through wireless headphones, so everyone hears the same studio-quality mix, and they are invited into the performance itself: singing in chorus, clapping in rhythm, and helping create the sound. The artists span jazz, Latin, Brazilian, funk and pop, and each night feels less like a concert than a shared creation between musicians and listeners.

As the project's official photographer across more than fifteen episodes, my role has been to capture that closeness: the focus of a musician in mid-phrase, the glow of stage light cutting through the black, and the faces of an audience fully absorbed in what they're hearing. This selection gathers moments from those sessions, an ongoing visual record of a room where the line between stage and audience almost disappears.
